asked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimate he has made of the number of persons employed directly and indirectly, respectively, in manufacturing and selling Christmas cards.

I regret that the information is not available. My Department's employment statistics are analysed according to the minimum list headings of the Standard Industrial Classification. The manufacture and selling of Christmas cards form only parts of the headings for "other printing, publishing, bookbinding, engraving, etc." and for "other retail distribution", respectively.
