asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether there are any proposals to increase the Patent Office fees for trade marks within the next 12 months; and whether any such increase will be kept within a limit of 10 per cent.

An increase in trade mark fees in excess of 10 per cent. is likely to be necessary within the next 12 months. Before fee increases are finally settled, they will be published in draft so that interested parties may make representations.
