asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, on 1st July 1975 what was the longest period a person remanded in custody had served in prison in Northern Ireland.

Thirty-five weeks and three days. The average period on remand has however been reduced to 26 weeks and three days according to the latest figures.
