asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the imported Swedish film "More about the Language of Love", which was subsequently found to be grossly indecent by a jury at the Central Criminal Court, was inspected by the Customs on entry into the United Kingdom; what view they took; and if he will take steps to ensure that further such imports are effectively scrutinised and controlled.

A film bearing this title was imported in 1974 and cleared by Customs without detailed inspection. Customs watch for imported films likely to infringe the prohibition, but cannot subject every film to detailed examination without serious inconvenience and delay to legitimate importations.
