asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how it is proposed to mark the 25th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the Throne.

The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve a recommendation of the Prime Minister that the 25th anniversary of Her Accession to the Throne should be celebrated during the summer of 1977. The Government are considering how the occasion might most appropriately be marked, in compliance with the Queen's express wish that undue expenditure should be avoided. Details of the programme will be announced nearer the time.
