Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will list in the Official Report (a) the number of persons who have lost public positions as a result of the changes in Government policy since March 1974 and (b) the terms of settlement granted to each former public official.

Mr. O'Malley

I understand that my hon. Friend has in mind in particular the Reserve Pension Board set up under the Social Security Act 1973. The information is as follows:

  • (a) Ten members of the board, including the chairman and deputy chairman.
  • (b) The terms of settlement for those members of the board who have claimed compensation are under discussion.
