asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what talks he has had with the fishing industry about propositions for extending United Kingdom fisheries limits to 200 miles.

I have received a number of representations from the fishing industry about the extension of British fishing limits, and I have indicated that it remains the policy of the Government to support a general extension of fishing limits to 200 miles by international agreement at the United Nations Law of the Sea Conference.
