asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many applications for emigration were submitted from (i) professional persons, (ii) unskilled manual workers and (iii) skilled manual workers between (a) 1958 to 1964, (b) 1964 to 1970, (c) 1970 to 1973 and (d) 1974 to 1975.

The information in the form requested is not available. On the basis of passengers' declared intentions to reside abroad for one year or more collected in the International Passenger Survey, it is estimated that the numbers of emigrants from the United Kingdom to countries outside the British Isles in "professional and managerial" occupations and in "manual and clerical" occupations were as follows:
