asked the Secretary of State for Industry what investigations his Department has carried out into the functioning and administration of privately-owned businesses in the United States of America; and if he will publish a report.

There has been no formal investigation of this kind dealing with the whole field of private business in the United States and the publication of a report does not therefore arise. If the hon. Member will write to me about what specifically he has in mind, I will gladly go into the matter further.
