asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the percentage increase in the money supply on the narrow definition (M1) in the United Kingdom, each EEC country, Canada, Japan, Sweden and the USA for each year since 1970.

The information is set out in the table below. All figures are percentage changes between the end of the previous year and the end of the year shown. Comparable figures for Luxembourg are not available.
