asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he intends to review the provisions of the legislation relating to the supply of electricity.

Yes. Officials of my Department and other Departments concerned are reviewing the Electricity Supply Acts 1882–1936 and the supply provisions of later Acts. The electricity industry and the electricity consultative councils have been invited to submit any proposals they may have. If any other interested bodies or individuals wish to submit comments they should send them to:
