asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish in the Official Report figures showing expenditure by all higher education institutions and colleges on furniture, books, paper, &c., in Wales, showing in each case the proportion of expenditure in Wales.

The figures in brackets indicate for each category of institution the proportions of their total expenditure which these items constitute. Comparable data for the University of Wales are not available but in the academic year 1972–73 its expenditure included the following:
