asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the United Nations resolution for self-determination for the people of the former Spanish Sahara.

Her Majesty's Government supported Resolutions 3458A and 3458B on 10th December 1975 on the explicit understanding that both Resolutions provided for the right to self-determination of all the Saharan people originating in the Spanish Sahara and for effective measures to ensure that this right could be fully and freely exercised.
