At 3rd November 1975, how-ever, 2,570 persons, representing 21·8 per cent. of the registered unemployed in the areas covered by the St. Andrew's Dock and Hull unemployment benefit offices, had exhausted their entitlement to flat-rate unemployment benefit. This figure comprised 2,440 men and 130 women, representing respectively 24·6 per cent. of the men and 7 per cent. of the women, registered as unemployed in those areas at that date.
