asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the income tax receipts in 1974–75 from those in the following tax brackets; £2,000–£3,000, £3,000–£4,000, £4,000–£5,000, £5,000–£6,000, £6,000–£7,000, £7,000–£8,000, and £8,000 or over.

Total net income is as defined in the Inland Revenue's Income Surveys—p. 42 of Inland Revenue Statistics 1975.The figures given are estimates of the tax due on incomes chargeable with income tax for the income tax year 1974–75, not of the tax actually received in the year. The estimates are provisional and will be subject to revision when the results of the 1974–75 Income Survey become available later this year.
