asked the Secretary of State for Wales what amount was expended in rate rebates in Wales during the latest available financial year; and if he will express this in terms of average subsidy (a) per recipient and (b) per owner-occupier.

Rate rebates granted in 1974–75 are estimated at £2·2 million, which represents an annual average of £22·50 per recipient and £3·70 per owner-occupier in Wales.
