asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many refugees from Chile have been accepted by Great Britain in the period 1st August 1976 to date; and how many cases are still awaiting a decision by the Government.

During August and September last, 50 letters of consent were issued to Chilean refugees involving 129 people. There were 416 applications outstanding at the end of September involving 912 people.
