asked the Secretary of State for Wales what amount was expended on rent rebates in respect of privately owned accommodation in Wales during the latest available financial year; and if he will express this in terms of average subsidy (a) per recipient and (b) per privately owned rented dwelling.

Rent allowances granted to tenants of privately owned accommodation in Wales in 1975–76 are estimated at £1·05 million, which represents an annual average of £73·40 per recipient. Statistics on privately owned rented dwellings are not separately available.
