asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what assistance has been given from the European Social Fund for industrial retraining, and for other purposes.

Northern Ireland has received grants totalling £9,743,592 from the European Social Fund towards expenditure incurred on vocational training, rehabilitation and employment resettlement operations in respect of able-bodied and disabled persons by both firms and Government Departments.
