asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she will ensure wherever possible that the education of pupils in voluntary schools is not disrupted at the age of 16 years as a consequence of their schools leaving the maintained sector.

My right hon. Friend can intervene only if a local education authority acts unreasonably, or fails to do its duty. The hon. Member has written to her about a particular situation; he will receive a reply very soon.
