asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to complete consideration of the schemes for community councils still before him.

My right hon. Friend expects to complete consideration of the majority of the remaining schemes for community councils by the end of this year. In this number, however, are several schemes for which, at the request of the sponsoring authority, a late submission date was agreed and for which this timetable may not be met.
