asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the state of the fishing industry in Wales and if he will make a statement.

The fishing industry in Wales, as elsewhere in the United Kingdom, has a vital interest in the outcome of current negotiations about fishing limits and the EEC common fisheries policy. As regards the current profitability of fishing, the indications are that the picture in Wales reflects the general situation.
