Beer, Whisky, Cigarette And Petrol Prices

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in the Official Report the price including tax of (a) a pint of beer, (b) a bottle of whisky, (c) a packet of 20 cigarettes and (d) a gallon of four-star petrol on 1st October 1973 and 1st October 1976 at constant 1975 prices.

Prices vary within each of these groups of goods. The following figures are therefore given as a guide to typical prices at average 1975 money values.
