asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state, for the first half of 1976, the immigration figure corresponding to 53,000 for 1975.

The figure of 53,000 for the whole of 1975 related to the number of citizens of New Commonwealth countries and of Pakistan accepted for settlement either on arrival or on removal of time limit. The figure for the first half of 1976 was 28,900.
