asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many terrorists have been brought before the courts in 1976.

I understand that, between 1st January and 30th September 1976, 696 persons were tried in Northern Ireland for the offences listed in Part I of Schedule 4 to the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973. These are offences commonly committed by terrorists.
