asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will amend the Noise Insulation Regulations 1975, as set out in Statutory Instrument No. 1763; and if he will cause an inquiry to be made about the noise levels in New Hey Road, Huddersfield, due to increase in the volume of traffic.

My right hon. Friend has no present plans to amend the Noise Insulation Regulations. The highway authority for New Hey Road is West Yorkshire County Council.
