asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many qualified district nurses are employed by area health authorities in England and Wales; how many persons are engaged in the administration of the District Nursing Service; and how many of those so engaged are qualified district nurses.

There were 9,275—whole-time equivalents—nurses with district training on 30th September 1975, the latest date for which figures are available. Information is not available centrally about those engaged in administering the district nursing service.
