asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what will be the effect on the United Kingdom fishing industry if the Republic of Ireland goes ahead with her proposal to limit the size and horsepower of fishing vessels operating within a coastal belt of 100 miles.

This is a hypothetical question. But relatively few British fishing boats in excess of the specified size limits traditionally operate in the waters to which the Irish proposal would apply.
