asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether there has been any change in the proposed date of introduction of the non-contributory invalidity pension for the disabled married women.

We are committed to making payments of non-contributory invalidity pension from November 1977, to married women incapable both of their housework and of paid employment; and we hope to begin inviting claims in July. We have no plans to change this timetable.
