asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the square footage for which industrial development certificates have been (a) granted and (b) refused in Kent in the years 1970 to 1976, inclusive.

Comparable statistics about industrial development certificates are available for the years in question only in respect of the employment office areas approximating to the county of Kent. On this basis the information is as follows:
