asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what he anticipates will be the percentage uptake of United Kingdom sugar beet quotas for the 1977 season.

The British Sugar Corporation currently estimates that the area contracted by growers will be sown in full. At normal yields this area should produce the equivalent of about a million metric tons of refined sugar, that is around 100 per cent. of the United Kingdom's basic production quota.
