Mr. John Ellis
asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will raise the matter of safety in agriculture at the next Council of Agricultural Ministers.
Mr. Harold Walker
In the European Economic Community responsibility for Occupational safety, including agriculture, lies with the Council of Ministers dealing with Social Affairs, on which the representative of Her Majesty's Government is the Secretary of State for Employment. An action programme for safety at work, including agriculture, is at present under consideration by the Advisory Committee on Safety, Hygiene and Health Protection at Work which was set up by a Council of Ministers' decision in June 1974.
