asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what action is being taken to protect important fish breeding grounds off the South Coast of England.

The interim conservation measures taken by the Community in February, on the initiative of the United Kingdom, together with the reductions in catching opportunities of non-member countries within our fisheries limits, represent a significant step towards the protection of resources.
