Rate Poundages

Mr. James White

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how rate poundages for 1977–78 compare with those for 1976–77.

Rate poundages for 1977–78 notified to me are shown in the following table, in comparison with those for 1976–77. Over Scotland as a whole rate poundages, excluding domestic water rates, will rise by an average of approximately 14 per cent.
