asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what advance notice of the arrival by air from West Africa was given to the immigration authorities in connection with the citizen found last week to be suffering from lassa fever; and what precautions or arrangements for quarantine or treatment were made as a consequence.

None. I understand that the man concerned is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies with the right of abode in this country and who, as such, did not require leave to enter from the immigration authorities.
