asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the percentage increase in money wages in manufacturing industry in the United Kingdom in each of the past five years; and what the corresponding figures were for each of the other member countries of the EEC.

The attached table gives, for each member State of the EEC, the annual percentage change in average gross hourly earnings in the manufacturing industries, in each year from 1971 to 1975, the latest year for which comparative information is available:subsidy to keep essential rural bus services going will be allocated to Cumbria; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend's proposals for subsidy will be published in a White Paper shortly.
