asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the reasons for the delay in making his promised statement about rating relief for the disabled following the case of Vandyk v. Oliver.

The delay has arisen from the complexities of the subject, and the range of circumstances to be taken into account in considering what amending legislation may be needed in the light of the decision of the House of Lords in the case of Vandyk v. Oliver.
