asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many letters he and his Ministers have received since 23rd July 1976 on the subject of the phasing out of the invalid tricycle; and how many favoured and how many opposed Government policy in this field.

Approximately 3,000. The numbers of letters taking particular points of view on this subject have not been separately recorded, but most have been against phasing out the invacar.
