asked the Secretary of State for Employment what public funds have been made available to the TUC to the latest convenient date in 1977; and for what purposes.

For the financial year 1976–77, £400,000 was made available jointly by the Department of Employment and the Department of Education and Science to a fund administered by the TUC for trade union education and training. The sum to be allocated for this purpose in 1977–78 is still under consideration.
