asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many automobiles are owned by his Department; what they are; and how many drivers are employed by his Department.

pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 27th June 1977; Vol. 934, c. 95], gave the following information:The numbers and types of automobiles owned by the Northern Ireland Office and the eight Northern Ireland Departments—Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Environment, Finance, Department of Health and Social Services, Manpower Services, Department of the Civil Service—are: 36 cars, 21 estate cars, 152 utility vehicles, 1,053 vans, 855 load carriers, 208 personnel carriers, and 676 tractors. The total number of staff employed wholly or mainly on driving duties is 2,068.
