asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he has any plans to carry out improvements on the A44 trunk road between Aberystwyth and Ponterwyd next year.

Subject to the satisfactory completion of statutory procedures, work is expected to start in 1978 on the diversion of the A44 trunk road at Llanbadarn Fawr and on carriageway improvements at Gwarllan Cottage, near Goginan.
Maintenance works and improvements are also to be carried out during the year on several small bridges west of Ponterwyd, including possible minor realignments of the approaches to these structures.
