asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether courses and conferences at the Transport and General Workers' Union leisure centre at Eastbourne are eligible for grants from his Department's grant to the Trades Union Congress for education and training purposes.

I refer the hon. Member to my reply on 15th November—[Vol. 939, c. 576 and 577]. Courses which are within the terms and conditions of the memorandum of arrangements are eligible for grant aid. Conferences are not eligible for grant aid.
