asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the Scottish towns on major road routes for which he has plans and provisional or definite costings for bypasses.

It is intended to bring to contract-letting stage within the next five years trunk road bypasses of Mussel-burgh, Tranent, Auchterarder, Pitlochry, Lesmahagow, Annan, Stonehaven, Ellon, Inverurie and Forres, at a total estimated cost of £64 million.
