Mr Arthur Lewis
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give for the longest and most convenient stated period of time the number of schemes and operations where there has been a loss to the Exchequer similar to the Crown Agents case, TSR2 and Concorde; what were the actual or estimated costs to the taxpayer; and what he estimates will be the cost in a year of the increased debt charges thereon as a result of the Government's decision to increase the minimum lending rate by two points.
Mr. Joel Barnett
I am not sure precisely what kind of schemes and operations my hon. Friend has in mind. If there are any specific cases on which he would like further information, perhaps he would care to write to me.
