asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what has been the cost since 1973 of advertising vacancies in the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Prison Service, respectively.

Since the beginning of 1973 a total of £655,900 has been spent on advertising vacancies in the Royal Ulster Constabulary—including the RUC Reserve and Cadets—and £378,183 on advertising vacancies in the Northern Ireland Prison Service.
