asked the Secretary of State for Industry when the first British mass-produced steel pipeline factory will be in production.

The British Steel Corporation has facilities for producing steel pipes suitable for the construction of pipelines at Hartlepool, Stockton and Clydesdale. Private sector facilities are located at Ipswich and Motherwell.
