The following is the information requested applicable on 6th December 1977:monetary compensatory amounts are fixed in sterling. The net cost to the importer is the common levy less the accession compensatory amount and less the monetary compensatory amount.In the Overseas Trade Accounts import values are quoted "cif"—cost, insurance, freight—and not on a wholesale price basis. The following figures, which are the latest ones available, are the average unit values of all imports from third countries recorded during October 1977 and these were calculated by dividing the total import values by the total import quantity of each commodity.
