asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the revelations of the Crown Agents' business revealed by the Fay Report, and other maladministration and neglect as revealed in Government Departments, he will appoint a special committee of inquiry to inquire into all aspects of maladministration and neglect in Government Departments where loss of taxpayers' money is being incurred.

No. A Select Committee of this House—the Public Accounts Committee—is continuously inquiring throughout every Session into the expenditure of Government Departments.
