asked the Secretary of State for Defence in how many cases the Army Benefit Fund has assisted Service men in the payment of electricity and other fuel bills in each of the last four years.

On the assumption that the hon. Member means the Army Benevolent Fund, the answer is none. Most of the fund's resources go towards making block grants to Service charities and regimental associations. It deals with individuals only when there is a case of serious hardship.
