asked the Secretary of State for Energy what energy saving he anticipates will occur in each of the next five years as a consequence of the provisions in the recent Budget.

The Budget included proposals to help to encourage energy saving and we would like to see full advantage taken of them. Depending on the response, energy savings could build up to over 500,000 tons of oil equivalent a year, worth at least £35 million a year.
